Fix Issues when updating Trend Micro Security for Windows

When you update Trend Micro Security to latest, it gives protection against newest threats keeping your system safe. Though Trend Micro has started rolling automatic update notification in Windows PC, you may encounter issues.

If there is any latest Trend Micro update available and you click on the notification while trying to download the updated you see an error message in the main console when you click on About.

  • The Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit will open, you need to click on Uninstall
  • Now, you need to click on Delete Now which will delete the security update.
  • After, Close the window and check whether or not the issue is resolved.
  • Reinstall Trend Micro Security.
  1. To reinstall Trend Micro Security, first, you need to uninstall the program from your computer.
  2. Go to the Programs and Features window in the Control Panel and uninstall the program.
  3. After you uninstall the program, go to Trend Micro’s download page and download the Trend Micro product.
  4. When the download completes, run the Trend Micro installer file.
  5. Provide the activation code and follow the on-screen instruction to complete the Trend Micro reinstallation process.
  • In case of update Trend, Micro Security hangs.
  1. Open the Run window and then type the command Exe and then click on OK.
  2. The Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit will open, you need to click on Uninstall
  3. Now, click on Stop all components and wait for ten seconds.
  4. After the wait, click on Start all components.
  5. Lastly, you need to open the Trend Micro Security application and perform a manual update.
